B.Sc Nursing Admission Process and Course Fees in Government and Private Colleges (2025)

Today, we are going to discuss the fees for the B.Sc Nursing course in private and government colleges. The trend for B.Sc Nursing is increasing, as many students from the 12th-grade biology stream are prioritizing this course in the medical field. Most students want to give preference to the B.Sc Nursing entrance exam instead of NEET. Therefore, many people are messaging me to provide a complete fee structure for the 4-year B.Sc Nursing course in both private and government colleges, state-wise. In this video, I will provide clear information regarding this. You will find details for all states, including MP, Bihar, Haryana, and Jharkhand. The B.Sc Nursing program is a 4-year professional degree course, and to gain admission, you need to take an entrance exam.

Professional degree courses require you to take an entrance exam, and this exam varies from state to state. Now, let’s talk about AIIMS. My friends, there are a total of 16 colleges for B.Sc Nursing at AIIMS. If you get admission to AIIMS, you won’t have to pay any fees for the B.Sc Nursing course. Admission to AIIMS means you get to study B.Sc Nursing absolutely free. The maximum fee you might incur in a year is around 2000, which is a normal charge; you are not charged lakhs of rupees as tuition fees. So, the B.Sc Nursing course at the 16 AIIMS colleges is completely free, but you must clear the AIIMS entrance exam and score well to secure admission.

Bihar B.Sc Nursing Course Fees

If you want to pursue B.Sc Nursing in Bihar, look at the colleges like NMCH Patna, ANMCH Gaya, DMCH Darbhanga, BMIMS Pawapuri, and JLNMC Bhagalpur. There are no fees at all for these colleges; you can get your nursing education there completely free of cost. For admission in Bihar, you also need to take an entrance exam called BCECE (Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination). However, there is one college in Bihar named Indira Gandhi Institute, which is somewhat like IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University). If you pursue B.Sc Nursing from here, you will have to pay 70,000 per year as fees. All these colleges are government colleges.

Additionally, there are private B.Sc Nursing colleges in Bihar, and for admission to these private colleges, a separate entrance exam is conducted. The Knowledge University in Bihar conducts its own exam, and if you secure admission to a private college, the fees will range from 70,000 to 90,000 per year.

Rajasthan B.Sc Nursing Course Fees

For admission to the B.Sc Nursing course in Rajasthan, the RUHS (Rajasthan University of Health Sciences) conducts an entrance exam. Rajasthan is the only state in India with the highest number of government colleges for B.Sc Nursing, totaling 39 government colleges. Additionally, there are more than 150 private colleges for B.Sc Nursing in Rajasthan. The fee structure for government colleges in Rajasthan varies. One notable college is SMS Medical College, where if you secure admission, you will not have to pay any fees; the entire 4-year B.Sc Nursing course is completely free. However, you must take the RUHS entrance exam and score well for admission.

Among the 39 colleges, 38 government colleges have some fees. The fees depend on the college and typically range from ₹20,000 to ₹50,000. Some colleges charge only ₹20,000, while others charge up to ₹50,000. For female students and SC/ST boys, the fee is ₹20,000, while other boys have to pay ₹50,000. Now, regarding the private colleges in Rajasthan, if you get admission to one of the over 150 private colleges, the fee is ₹90,000 per year.

These fees will continue for the 4 years of the course, but admission to these private colleges is also contingent on passing the RUHS entrance exam.

Jharkhand B.Sc Nursing Course Fees

If you wish to pursue B.Sc Nursing in Jharkhand, you need to take the JCECE (Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination). The application forms for all these entrance exams are released in April, and the exams are conducted in June or July. In Jharkhand, there is RIMS (Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences), which is considered equivalent to AIIMS and is an excellent college. If you gain admission to RIMS Ranchi, you won’t have to pay any fees. Similarly, there is an AIIMS in Deoghar, where admission also requires passing a separate AIIMS entrance exam, and there are no fees if you are admitted.

For admission to RIMS Ranchi, you must take the JCECE exam. Jharkhand also has private B.Sc Nursing colleges, and the fees for these private colleges range from ₹70,000 to ₹90,000 per year. To gain admission to both private colleges and RIMS Ranchi, you will need to pass the JCECE exam.

Uttar Pradesh B.Sc Nursing Course Fees

In UP, there are a lot of government colleges. Among the top government colleges in India, there are 23 government colleges in Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, there are over 180 private colleges in UP. In UP, you must take an entrance exam, whether you are pursuing nursing from a private or government college. This entrance exam is conducted by two universities: ABVMU (Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University) and KGMU (King George's Medical University). Only after passing this entrance exam can you get admission into government or private colleges. Almost all states have made entrance exams mandatory for admission to B.Sc Nursing courses.

KGMU in Lucknow is the best B.Sc Nursing college in UP. King George University is excellent, and other notable colleges include RML (Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital), SGPGI (Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences) in Lucknow, and UPUMS (Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences), also known as Saifai. These four are the top government colleges in UP, with a total of 23 government colleges spread across locations like Gorakhpur, Basti, Badaun, Saharanpur, Shahjahanpur, Agra, Kanpur, Noida, Jhansi, and Meerut.

What are the fees for B.Sc Nursing in these government colleges in Uttar Pradesh? Some government colleges offer scholarships, so the fees generally range from ₹30,000 to ₹40,000. Some colleges may have lower fees, but on average, you can expect to pay between ₹30,000 and ₹40,000. In the government colleges mentioned above, studying B.Sc Nursing will give you an MBBS-like experience. The education provided in these colleges will be similar to that offered in an MBBS course, and you'll also have hospital duties. Overall, the B.Sc Nursing course has become a top trending course, and many aspire to pursue it, putting in a lot of hard work.

Madhya Pradesh B.Sc Nursing Course Fees

In MP, admission to B.Sc Nursing requires taking the MP PNST (Madhya Pradesh Pre-Nursing Selection Test). There are also 23 government colleges in MP, and if you get admission to one, you won’t have to pay any fees. However, if you choose to attend a private college, the fees typically range from ₹70,000 to ₹90,000 per year. But I would advise against taking admission in MP's private colleges because they do not conduct exams on time. On the other hand, the government colleges in MP are excellent.

This same trend is observed in other states such as Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Punjab, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Jammu & Kashmir, where both government and private colleges for B.Sc Nursing exist. In summary, there are generally two types of government colleges: some do not charge any fees at all, and you can gain admission for free, while others may charge around ₹10,000 or ₹20,000 or a little more.

Regarding private colleges, regardless of the state, the fees for B.Sc Nursing typically start at around ₹90,000 per year, with additional charges possibly applying. So, if you want to pursue the B.Sc Nursing course, be prepared to pay the fees mentioned above.
